Star Citizen Alpha 2.6.1 to Live! after a brief 2.6.1e PTU

Hello Citizens,We will bringing the Live servers down to update to Star Citizen Alpha 2.6.1!

Thank you for your patience, and we are excited for you guys to experience Alpha 2.6.1 and the first build of Spectrum!

If that was not enough for Friday backers were introduced to the first full live release of Spectrum

New broadcast features allows application to reload on update
New setting allows to disable display of image / video embeds
Added an about page (temporary) to display legal and client version
You can now add the app to your home screen on iOS and Android and it’ll look gewd!
Fixed a bug where in-game presence would report “In Menus” when you’re in your hangar. Duh! (that’s with 2.6.1)
Bug Fixes & Improvements
Improved forum editor inline styles. You can now break out of current style using return key.
Improved forum h1, quote & code block style to match message lobby styles
Improved collapsed forum reply. You can now click on a collapsed reply to open it.
Improved Chat lobbies readability with more space and border between messages
Fixed member profile previews now properly float to the top
Fixed crash in code block with no text
Fixed quote including giv would not be minimized
Add try/catch around convertFromRaw so @laulap can sleep
Improved Firefox and Edge performance on message input (display: flex is a lot of fun!)
Fixed a bug where copy pasting mentions in the forum editor would cause an error
Fixed a validation bug preventing /me from working
Known Issues
Emoji list is missing Unicode 9 latest updates (No avocado or salt shaker WHAT!)
On mobile, the message input closes when you type. It’s bad. We’re on it!
On mobile, the lobby presence list defaults to displayed, it’s annoying!
We’re hunting a bug where sometimes private lobby unread “count” resets.

Star Citizen Patch v2.6.1e

Welcome to Star Citizen Alpha Patch 2.6.1e, PTU Testers! For the complete 2.6.0 PTU patch notes, you can find them at
Your launcher should should show “2.6.1-506099” as the client version. It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Test client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Cloud Imperium Games\StarCitizen\Test.
Please review our current list of Patch 2.6.1 known issues, and take full advantage of our Issue Council area of the Community site to report any bugs you encounter, as well as contribute to other players submissions.
Important Issues:
  • For users encountering GPU Related crashes on NVIDIA cards, please ensure that you have performed a clean driver installation of driver version 378.49!
  • Hangar flair item are not persisting through client restarts.
  • Players may experience excessive desync when interacting with the Greycat Buggy.
Updates and Fixes
Game Systems:
  • Made tweaks to Pirate AI in Pirate Swarm so they are less likely to fly out of bounds during a match.
  • Fixed an issue where the audio that played during refueling would loop forever.
  • Fixed an issue with Orbital Cam where it would clip through the players face from certain angles.
  • Countermeasures are now working properly for the MISC Freelancer.
  • Fixed an issue where the player would become offset when attempting to sit in a turret seat.
  • Made additional tweaks to the emergency audio for the MISC Starfarer.
  • Fixed an issue where shields were regenerating per-frame instead of per-second.
  • Fixed an issue where the character was not aligned with the ladder when climbing into the Origin Jumpworks 300i.
  • Made adjustments to the AEGIS Vanguard and DRAK Cutlass to make them feel heavier in flight.
  • Fixed an issue where some enemy fired projectiles were not counting as hits even though they were passing through the players ship.
  • Fixed an issue with multiple ships where turret fire did not correspond to the cross-hair’s position.
User Interface:
  • Polish pass on the in game Leaderboard UI.
  • Adjusted the single column scoreboards “winner display” box so that it would not overlap the scoreboard text.
  • Fixed multiple client crashes.
  • Fixed an issue where players could not successfully be invited to a Lobby if they were currently sitting in a Lobby.
  • Fixed it so that you can no longer modify UI text windows.
  • Fixed an issue where holding down F1 to show the Scoreboard in Star Marine could affect client performance.
  • Fixed an issue where shadows would flicker during a Star Marine match for some SLI specific video cards.
